The Project
Management Championship winners....
The
scene was set...

.....and the prizes ready.....

After a brief
welcome and introduction to SimulTrain®, the project management simulation that
was the basis for the final, the teams were off and running. The teams were
given a pre-approved project with 17 tasks and a critical path identified, 3
core resources and availability for all the other company resources they could
draw upon. The budget and timescales had been set so they "just" had to manage
the project to delivery. Pretty much like real life then! First up, they had to
plan their project using the simulator and they were given about an hour for
this. Then the simulator kicked off and the teams had to make a series of
decisions, deal with team members, bosses, suppliers etc and cope with errors
and delays just like any real project.
The results, in
reverse order were:

In
3rd place with 360 points and winners of the wooden spoons despite being just 6
points behind the second place team were... "Gordon's Geeks." Well done to
Steve Dungworth, Mags
Pearson, and Sheila Rush

In second place on 366
points and winners of the Jelly Babies (the most sort after prize) were
"Don't spend that
contingency!". Well done to Richard Reuben, Ray Bunton and Louise Tabberer.
